On Wednesday 8th June the club opened its doors and hosted a round of the Cardiff Schools Kwik Cricket Festival. The day involved several teams from local primary schools including two teams each from Radyr Primary and Bryn Deri Primary Schools. The day was blessed with perfect cricket weather and the club were particularly proud to see so many of our junior members taking part ranging from school years 3 to 6, proof that cricket is thriving in our local community. During the day the boys and girls from each school played against each other with some great displays of cricket on show and the chance to practice in a friendly fun environment with everyone playing in the true spirit of cricket. Overall the day provided a perfect platform to promote cricket to the many grown-ups who came along to watch and also inspire many children who attended and who had never played before.
The next round of the festival will take place during National Cricket Week on Thursday 23rd June when once again the club will play hosts. If you are free why not come along and show your support and maybe see a future star or two in the making.
