Girls Cricket Update

Lady Taverners success
In 2019 we are delighted to be entering teams into the U13 and U15 Lady Taverners competition a first in Radyr CC history. Having been drawn against Newport in the first round our U13s travelled to Newport on Friday 3rd May. After a shaky start Alex Poole and Summer Wales steadied the Radyr ship and both achieved personal bests of 39 and 31 not out and helped us achieve a total of 120 for 2 off 20 overs. Newport in reply were bowled out for 39 with Seren Jenkin taking 3 wickets for 7 runs and Caitlin Jewitt, Jess Clegg and Lola Robinson taking one wicket each. Overall a great team effort and a place in the next round awaits us.
Radyr girls help to make cricketing history
We all love it when a plan comes together and this plan was made even more special when a group of U13 girls played a newly formed girls team South Wales Falcons (a team formed of girls from Rogerstone, Ebbw Vale, Malpas, Croesyceiliog, Miskin Manor and Cardiff) on Bank Holiday Monday. This was the first time in Rogerstone’s 90 year history that an all girls game had taken place at the club. Having entered a team into the U13 Lady Taverners competition the SW Falcons were keen to get some practice and game time against an all girls team. It proved to be a great success and was enjoyed by players, supporters and coaches alike. We wish the SW Falcons every success for the season and look forward to welcoming them to Radyr CC in the near future.
