Lady Taverners Cricket

On Sunday 14th June, the under 11’s girls played in the Lady Taverners regional tournament for Cardiff and districts
They tied with Lisvane and then went on to beat Newport.
This means, that as last year, they shall go on to play in the West of England tournament. A great achievement for Girl’s cricket at Radyr.

The tournament, which had originally six teams, was, in the end whittled down to three.

However, the Radyr club came to the rescue, by putting in an additional side of Under 9’s, in order for the tournament to go ahead.
This team played really well and came in a very creditable fourth.
It was a huge pleasure, to all watching, two Radyr teams of eight girls performing so well.

The Radyr mums, most capably lead by Becky Thomas, produced cakes and bacon butties which made the club £130.
Including the ground hire of £80 and the bar takings this was a most successful day financially.

My thanks go to all the parents who scored, umpired and helped in every way possible.
