Welcome to the new online home of Radyr Cricket Club

I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to the new online home of Radyr Cricket Club.

The club site has been transformed as we enter a landmark year for our club – our 125th Anniversary, and we have a packed calendar of events to celebrate during the course of the year.

This site will provide regular information and updates on each of the events and activities, as well as reviews and photos, latest news, key contacts if you would like to get involved, as well as details of 125 club memorabilia.

It will also of course provide a look back on the history of our club, significant milestones and statistics, with much more information being added over the course of the year.

In order to celebrate such an anniversary, it is extremely fitting that we have been fortunate to secure a unique fixture against the world’s most famous cricket club, and guardians of the Laws of our great game, Marylebone Cricket Club. It will be a fantastic occasion for the club and one we are very appreciative of the MCC in extending to us. The fixture will take place at the Riverside Ground on Tuesday 28th July at 11.30am.

The M.C.C fixture will form part of a dedicated cricket week starting on the 25th July where we will also be hosting fixtures against our friends at the Royal Household Cricket Club, a Welsh Club Cricket Conference X1 as well as a jointly selected team led by Radyr old boys and Welsh Rugby professionals, Nicky and Jamie Robinson, who will be bring along a number of celebrities for a 20/20 game. There will also be a fiercely contested Radyr under 18s -v- over 45s and our usual Saturday league fixtures. The club will be organising a marquee, music, food, drinks and activities for all members, family and the wider Radyr and Morganstown community to enjoy.

We will commence our celebrations on the 25th January at our annual lunch at the SWALEC stadium which is always a fabulous occasion for our club, and will coincide with the launch of a dedicated 125th Anniversary souvenir brochure, available at the lunch and during the year.

Much more information will be available soon therefore please continue to visit us for the latest updates and please view the events schedule and cricket week pages for more details.

On behalf of the management committee and 125th anniversary sub committee, I look forward to helping to make 2015 the greatest year in Radyr Cricket Club’s history.
