Lots of you will remember the wonderful time that was had during our 125 cricket week just last year. In an attempt to rekindle some of the magic from last year I am pleased to announce that for one day only we will be opening our doors and hosting a 126 day next month on Friday 29th July.
On the day we welcome back the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) the most famous cricket club in the world who after enjoying themselves so much last year asked for a return fixture, a request that we are only too pleased to honour. The game will commence at 11.30 a.m. where a team of seniors will take to the field and try their luck at becoming the winning team. We look forward to welcoming all members along with their friends and families along to the club to enjoy this great occasion. In the afternoon we hope to see the return of our 125 cricket tea shop, where sandwiches, cakes and refreshments will be available.
During the morning we are hoping to have an open cricket session where all junior members will be welcome to bring along a grown up and show off the cricket skills they have learnt throughout their training sessions.
Following the game there will be BBQ where again everyone will be welcome to attend and share tales from the day as well as celebrate our 126th anniversary. We are very grateful to Waitrose who are supporting our day as part of the ECB club open day scheme.
The events we are hoping to run are largely dependent upon the number of volunteers we are able to recruit to help. Can I ask you all to please consider helping YOUR club by donating any spare time you may have. Just half an hour from each member could make a huge difference to a potentially wonderful day. If you can help please sign up in the club house or email email@example.com
In the meantime can I ask you all to spread the word throughout Radyr and beyond by telling anyone who is interested that they are welcome to join us on our 126 day.
I look forward to seeing you there.
