On Friday 29th July, the most famous cricket club in the world the MCC returned to Radyr following their first visit during our 125 cricket week last year.
Little did we know it was going to be a day unlike any other on the cricket field with Radyr bowling out the World’s most famous cricket club for just 120 in 36.3 overs. James Cady achieved his first senior fivefor and deserves a special mention with figures of 12 overs, 36 runs and 5 wickets, backed up by a great spell of 3 wickets for just 8 runs off 10 overs by Jon Corden!
Unfortunately our batting couldn’t match the bowling and fielding performance and we fell a little short of the target. The full scorecard can be found here . . http://radyrcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/2830250
During the 2nd innings we were also visited by the Police when they descended on the club during a chase, play had to be halted as they successfully caught, arrested and marched five suspects across the pitch in what can only be described as a first in RCC history.
